Mary Tina Shamli Pillay is a writer and abstract painter who is deeply drawn to the freedom and emotional depth that abstraction allows. She is inspired by literature, history, music, design, travel, nature, and all things “beautiful”.

Her goal is not to dictate meaning, but to open a space for personal interpretation, reflection, emotional connection and discovery.

Through her paintings, she invites viewers to find meaning beyond the surface, and encourages them to bring their own experiences to the work, and to see something new each time they return to it.
