Artist – Richard Emil Miller
Richard Emil Miller (1875-1943) was an American Impressionist painter known for his landscapes, still lifes, and figure paintings. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and began his art studies at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts. He later studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Académie Julian in Paris. Miller was a member of the Giverny colony of American Impressionists, which included painters such as Claude Monet and Theodore Robinson. He spent several summers in Giverny, France, where he painted many landscapes, still lifes, and figure paintings, often featuring women and children.
Miller’s paintings are known for their bright colors, loose brushwork, and attention to light and atmosphere. He was particularly skilled at capturing the effects of sunlight and the changing seasons. His paintings are held in many museums and private collections across the USA, and are admired by many art lovers
